Who we are

Barton Historical & Genealogical Society (BHGS) has been accumulating data about and for its members since 1975. Inherent in any genealogical organization’s mission is the capture and display of data about deceased and sometimes living persons for both members and non-members alike.

Comments

We capture and sometimes display information about our members and ancestors in a variety of places:

  1. Our paper (non-digital) records maintained by our Secretary and Treasurer for the efficient handling of BHGS business
  2. Our digital (electronic) records maintained for similar purposes at our Membership website at www.bhgs.wildapricot.org
  3. Our digital archive for purposes of capturing and displaying genealogical information such as Birth, Marriage and Death records, Wills, Probate records, Family Bible records, Cemetery and Burial records and other documents as well as historical photographs and newspaper clippings at:

  1. The members themselves in a password-protected Member Directory at www.bhgs.wildapricot.org
  2. Both the BHGS Secretary and Treasurer Access member’s personal information in the normal course of their duties.
  3. Our Webmaster processes personal information on our various websites.
